Lord, I no longer have that youthful stride,
Sometimes hobbling with a cane by my side.
Feeling elderly and thinking someone might mock;
Moving slowly and wishing I could turn back the clock.
I remember the days when I was quick as a child;
When nothing stopped me, no matter how high work piled.
Now pain is with me, with such weakness and strain;
But, You, O Lord, have used them to teach me great gain!
As I talk to You and feed on Your grace each day,
You take my burdens upon Yourself to stay.
Your words of relief bring comfort, and console;
Giving great peace that floods my soul!
My afflictions have heightened my faith anew,
As Your mercies flow, and I draw strength from You.
You make my legs sturdy as athletes with fierce force;
You make my bones strong, like Your perfect white horse.
God, I know for sure that if I stand or fall,
With power and great purpose, You ordained it all!
Through pain and affliction, I will always hold fast,
Trusting in You, not focusing in the past.
I long to be carried to Your castle in the sky,
Where I will walk the streets of gold and see You eye to eye!
All my pain and imperfections will forever be erased;
I will glory in Your presence with pure love embraced!

You are my All

Lynne, as I read these words I know they have not been born without the kind of pain that only God truly sees. Many of these thought resonate with me because of my own afflictions. Thank you so much for these triumphant words of hope!
