Make Me a Blessing (By: Ira B. Wilson)

("Padmeniko," a very dear friend of mine, came to my house recently. She gave and gave, ministering to me one way after another. She carried with her sunshine as soon as she walked through the door. We talked about our sweet Savior, and His love shined through her. She loved as the Master loves and made sure she was a blessing to me. It was a precious moment in time I will never forget. This song reminded me of her as I read it tonight from a book she gave me!)

Out in the highways and byways of life,
many are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
making the sorrowing glad.

CHORUS:
Make me a blessing, make me a blessing,
Out of my life, may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.

Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love;
Tell of His pow'r to forgive:
Others will trust Him if only you prove
true every moment you live.

Give as 'twas given to you in your need;
Love as the Master loved you;
Be to the helpless a helper indeed;
Unto your mission be true.

Thanks for posting "Make Me a Blessing." If you'd like to read a bit about the song and its author, I invite you to check out my daily hymn blog, Wordwise Hymns, for today. The story reminds us that we can sometimes be a blessing to others without even realizing it. (The scary thing is, though, we can sometimes be the opposite, unawares!)
