A World of Flowers

A world among us with such beauty to be treasured
Is the world of flowers that intrigue with such pleasure.
Just one tiny posy can take our breath away
Or leave us mesmerized by a cluster or spray.
Their colors of the rainbow in every shade
Paint the earth over wherever they’ve strayed.
They brighten and gladden a dreary heart.
Their elegance is admired and a work of art.
First exploding from a bulb or a seed,
Behind our closed doors, they grow like a weed.
Their stems rise up and head towards the sky
Or crawl on the ground or droop when they’re dry.
Buds burst forth with mysterious force;
Blossoms bloom from their divine resource.
Pleasurable scents and radiant colors so bold;
Intricate detail two seasons behold.
Glorious acts of creation transpired;
A miracle of God from His hand inspired.
Exquisite and charming all around to see
With lighthearted richness so full and free.
The red rose, protected by thorns of its own;
The most romantic of flowers with a scent well-known.
Cheerful daffodils are early to bloom;
Fragrant lilacs fill the air with perfume!
Colorful tulips with bright beauty and pastels;
White lily of the valleys resembling tiny bells.
Grand gladiolas line up on their stem in a row;
Magical morning glories close when darkness begins to flow.
The flashy hibiscus with its luxurious, exotic flowers
Quickly replace old ones through the long Summer hours.
Short, dainty pansies border pretty landscapes;
Large clusters of hydrangea resemble pom pom shapes.
Flowers are gifts from the Creator above!
What splendor they bring from a great God of love!
Pure loveliness garnishes each Spring when born;
Can you even imagine what the heavens adorn?
