BE STILL

Be still before the Lord and wait,
Seek to be content in your state;
Search to know your Father’s Will,
Lean on His Word, your strength to fill.

Fight the good fight, and faith will take hold,
Growing stronger, refined as gold;
Never dwelling and asking “Why?”
But vigilant with your watchful eye.

Bear your burdens and persevere,
Having the joy of the Lord and fear;
His perfect plan holds no mistake,
Your heart of stone, no longer to break.

Remember He waits for you to grow,
Each trial with purpose, His fruits to show;
Then look at the blessings in disguise,
Setting your mind on the lasting prize.

He helps you at night to fall asleep,
And cares for your needs as His own sheep;
When you are faithless, He has more waiting,
To restore your focus, no hesitating.

Give Him glory when you are chosen,
A heart on fire, not cold or frozen;
Then wait on the Lord and cling to grace,
And feel the depth of His love and embrace!

When heaven bound and sanctified,
Praising God and rejoicing inside,
You’ll be thankful you waited, earth’s journey done,
As He welcomes you home as His chosen one!
