Easy Crab Fettuccine

1 lb. uncooked fettuccine
3 cloves garlic, minced
14 Tbsp. butter, divided
1/2 cup whipping cream (not Cool Whip)
1 1/2 cups grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1 lb. crab meat (or 2- 10 oz. cans)
salt and pepper to taste

Cook fettuccine in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8 minutes. While pasta is cooking, saute garlic in 6 Tbsp. of butter. Add cream, heat, then stir in cheese. In separate skillet, saute crab meat in remaining 8 Tbsp. butter for 4 minutes. Add to creamed mixture with salt and pepper. Heat through. Drain the pasta, add it to the sauce, and toss it together. Serve immediately.
