To fill a need that Jesus plants;
To show His selfless love today,
By giving up in some small way?
Serving God, a part of life,
Helps the sad or sick with strife,
Ministers to hearts in need,
God is honored through that deed,
Each others' burdens, we must bear,
Give to the lowly in despair;
Cheer the sad or give advice,
To walk as Christ, to sacrifice.
“Give to the least!” the Savior said,
The poor in need of more than bread.
Christ gave His life, and did not forget,
To meet your needs, to pay your debt.
Why hold back when we can show
Grateful hearts, for sin once owed?
Or are we too busy and on the go
To share His love, our souls to grow?
Why not start with a just a smile,
A prayer for those in self-denial;
A promise from God’s Word to share,
A precious gift beyond compare?
What a privilege to put them first,
When God would never let us thirst.
“Give a cup of water in my name;”
Jesus spoke, then helped the lame.
Give the glory He is due,
Others will see a difference in you;
Will your name be in His Book,
If you never gave, but took?
Can we just receive His grace,
And turn our backs on a hurting face?
Is truly Christ within the heart
Of the one who lacks the servant’s art?
