REMEMBER (By: Greg Wright)

(Greg Wright and his wife Nan lost their only son to a bicycle accident when he was 13 years old.)

I left Him standing by the door.
There wasn’t time anymore.
The cares of life took me away.
Perhaps we’d meet another day.

And though reunion may be slow,
My chastened heart will start to glow,
As mercy’s beams fall from His face,
And warm my heart through His embrace.

For thorns and weeds had gathered in.
The holy work became my sin,
As work replaced my heart’s desire,
My love for Christ, The Spirit’s fire.

Make way oh night that filled the skies,
Let my forgiven soul arise,
With joy and peace that’s from above,
The Lamb of God, The Lord of Love.

There was a time,
When I could not wait to meet Him.
He filled my heart, with joy and peace.
And, I would rise, before the morn had broken
To meet The Lord my God and King.

Oh Lamb of God ,
Fill the longing in our hearts,
Cleanse us within, our deepest darkest parts,
Renew our passion, for The King of Kings,
Fill us with praise your spirit brings.

Now like the branch without the tree
There is no fruit that I can see.
And as the well begins to dry,
My flesh prevails; my spirit sighs.

Where is the joy I used to know,
When did it leave; where did it go?
And all the songs I used to sing,
Words that should thrill don’t mean a thing.

But I will recall,
The height from which I’ve fallen.
I will return, to the source of my strength,
To my first love, the one who died and saved me,
With passion pure that’s His alone.

Revelation 2:2-5 I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lamp stand from it place -- unless you repent.
