A Prayer of Forgiveness

Lord, forgive the sinful things I do,
For losing touch through prayer with you.
Forgive me for my unkind ways,
And for seeking others' praise.
Please take away my evil thoughts,
And any bitterness inside that rots.
Please forgive my impatience and pride;
Humble me and make me surrender and abide.
Lord, I earnestly ask for wisdom and faith renewed
To make decisions and plans that honor You.
Forgive my hateful and foolish tongue;
May I learn to tame it while still young.
Forgive my gossiping and when I judge;
Take away my selfishness and grudge.
May Your mercy be poured out
When temptations come about.
May Your grace sustain and hold;
When trials come around me bold;
That I will not give up or give in;
That I may give You glory without sin.
I am nothing without Your love, dear Lord.
I am grateful You saved me, my soul restored.
May I live for You each and every day,
Remembering, for me, You had to pay!
Help me to follow Your example and serve,
Cheerfully, remembering what I deserve.
Give me more sincere love for others,
And more sympathy for my hurting brothers.
Make me a peacemaker, and let it show;
Displaying your joy wherever I go.
Hear my prayers of forgiveness today!
Sanctify me and cause me to grow
To be an example for others to know;
Until You bring me home with You,
May I always look to Your Will to pursue!
