Hamburger Noodle Casserole

4 c. cooked noodles
2 lbs. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. shredded cheese (cheddar or American)
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
3 eggs, beaten

Brown ground beef and onions. In a 3-quart casserole dish, arrange 1/3 of noodles, then 1/2 of the meat-onion mixture. Add soup, that has been diluted with the milk. Repeat with another 1/3 noodles and remaining meat. Arrange the remaining noodles on top. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Pour beaten eggs over cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 30-40 minutes at 350°. Top will be crisp.
