Life is like a roller coaster,
A winding river’s flow;
A flower quickly fading,
Thank God, He helps me grow!
So many highs and lows
With ups and downs to face;
Round the bend through twists and turns,
Thank God for His sheer grace!
The baby’s born too small,
My mother died last week;
My kids are off to college now,
Thank God- it’s Him I seek!
My husband lost his job,
I just received bad news;
I live with chronic disease and pain,
Thank God-His strength I choose!
If life was always smooth,
I know I’d be like rust;
Trials make us shine for Him,
Thank God, in Him I trust!
Challenges test our faith,
They make God’s children strong;
Leaning on His holy Word,
Thank God, to Him, I belong!
I am nothing, but full of sin,
But then, He set me free!
Christ paid my debt I fully owed,
Thank God, I now can see!
Those twists and turns prepare me
For my eternal gain;
The ups and downs are foreordained,
Thank God, the King does reign!
