Life is Like a Roller Coaster

Life is like a roller coaster
With its highs and lows;
Its ups and downs will never stop,
Just like a river flows.

Launching high up toward the sky
Around each turn, a different place;
Then dropping low with breathless gasps,
New experiences to boldly face.

Just like the seasons come and go,
Never stopping time;
Bringing laughter, tears, or grief,
Steps we have to climb.

Once accepting twists and bends,
Suddenly a whole new story;
Another adjustment to make it through,
God wants all the glory.

With many obstacles and thrills,
Don’t get off the track;
Just like a train that must go forward,
There’s no turning back.

Just when you think you’ve had enough;
So quick to stop the ride;
Hang on tight and look ahead,
Like coasting down a slide.

The only way to ride the coaster
Is in the grips of grace;
Putting faith and hope in God
For He controls the race.

Its challenges and dips will bring
Lessons to apply;
If submitting to His Will,
With wings, you’ll soar and fly.

Give Him praise in all you do,
Press on to win the prize;
As you go up hills and down,
His love, you’ll recognize.

Every day will reveal anew,
His presence as you cleave;
On the roller coaster of life,
His strength, you will achieve.

So ride that roller coaster high,
Trust in the One who knows;
Each winding path leads only home,
Ordained for ones He chose.
