In the cross of Christ I glory;
It has given life to me.
Soon to end this earthly story
For a crown in eternity.
In the cross of Christ I boast;
There, the perfect sacrifice;
Now to serve and give my most
For the One who paid the price.
To the cross of Christ I flee
When Satan tries to drive astray;
Keeping my eyes on the victory,
Earthly pleasures to fade away.
At the cross of Christ I learn
True humility and grace;
His perfect Will I must discern
Till I meet Him face to face!
At the cross of Christ I fall;
Trials sent to make me strong,
When I’m weak, on Him I call;
Joy, and in my heart, a song.
At the cross of Christ I run,
To lay my burdens at His feet;
Finding shelter in the Son,
Rejoicing in His comforts sweet.
In the cross of Christ, I cling
Where He took those stripes for me;
His praises I will always sing;
He pardoned sin and made me free!
At the cross of Christ, I wait,
As He molds and sanctifies;
Soon to leave my unclean state
For a mansion in the skies!
