STRAWBERRY-FILLED ANGEL FOOD CAKE

"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!"
(This is a great father's day cake to celebrate with Dad! It's low fat and so easy to make!
I have made it for so many special celebrations, and every time the whole cake gets eaten!)

angel food cake (store-bought is easiest or you can make one from a cake mix)
16 oz. container Cool Whip (fat-free, if you prefer)
1 quart or more of strawberries, cut up

Cut cake in half width-wise, using a serrated knife. Mix together half of the strawberries with 1/3 of the Cool Whip. Put the bottom half of the cake on a plate. Spread the strawberry/Cool Whip mixture onto cake for the filling. Put the other half of cake on top of filling, cut side down.
Frost the whole cake with the remaining Cool Whip, and mound the remaining strawberries on the top of the cake.
OPTIONS:
You can add a cup of strawberry yogurt (swiss-style, which is already stirred) to the filling OR spread on top of the filling.
I have added a can of mandarin oranges, drained and a cup of cut up peaches to the strawberries. (And even blueberries or raspberries.)
I have also made it with raspberries on top and made a raspberry sauce for the filling and frosted it with Cool Whip!
