eight 3-inch long cinnamon sticks, broken in half
4 whole nutmegs
2 Tbsp. whole allspice
1 Tbsp. whole cloves
1/2 tsp. dried orange peel from a jar
Mix all ingredients. Put in a nice jar with a pretty ribbon with a card or label telling how to use. (Store indefinitely airtight at room temperature.) To use: Add 3 Tbsp. potpourri to 2 cups simmering water in a small pan over low heat. (Or add to a simmering potpourri holder.) Fragrance lasts about 2 hours. Add more water, if needed. Makes 3/4 cup potpourri, and it has a warm, spicy fragrance!
